Golden Sands in Coolangatta for Victoria

Victorian teams have won three Gold and one Silver medals at the recently-completed Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships (AYBVC) in Coolangatta, Queensland.

The Championships were held from 18-21 March, 2024, with Victoria sending 89 athletes across 38 teams, with 22 coaches, two referees, and one referee delegate joined by several staff and volunteers as part of the official representative contingent.

Victoria finished the championships in 2nd place overall (the President's Shield) with 11 points.

The following teams won medals representing Victoria:

  • Gold - U16 Girls: Ella McDonell and Ruby Longmuir
  • Gold - U14 Boys: James Burgess, Sebastian Gelt, Eamon Gibbs, Josh Goodman, and Jesse Wong
  • Gold - U14 Girls: Katelyn Britten, Greer Famous, Ellie Mellings, Indigo Patterson, and Gemma Yong
  • Silver - U15 Girls: Mayra Pacioni, Izabella Cheng, and Adele Curtis
