Congratulations to Lucas Maticevski and Sakura Nakadai, both Maribyrnong College students, on being awarded the Volleyball Sporting Blue Awards at the 30th annual Victorian School Sports Awards, held Wednesday, 27 March 2024 at the MCG Members Reserve.

"With strength and determination, Lucas spiked his way through an impressive year of volleyball achievements in 2023. Shortly after, Lucas was rewarded with an invitation to attend the Volleyball Australia Under 17 National Youth Development training camp in Queensland."

"Sakura has played exceptionally strong volleyball in 2023 - both indoor, and on the beach - with outstanding performances in the Volleyball Victoria Schools Cup and the Volleyball Victoria Junior Open. She represented Victoria in the Under 18 girls team, and was selected as a member of the elite Volleyball Australia Under 19 National Development team, which toured Thailand in April."
