Beach volleyball in Victoria is more than just a game, it’s an experience that brings people together on some of the state’s most beautiful beaches. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor, a social player or picking up a volleyball for the first time, Victoria’s beach volleyball scene offers the perfect mix of sport, sunshine, community and coastal adventure.
Each State has the ability to nominate one of their 4 Star events to be included in the Mikasa Cup. The Mikasa Cup is the 3rd tier of the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour (ABVT). This series is based on all State Opens (or equivalent event) where teams accumulate points to compete for the title of the Mikasa Cup. The team with the most points gained from all nominated events will be crowned the winner of the Mikasa Cup in each gender. The Mikasa Cup was introduced in the 2019/20 season to help raise the profile of all State Opens, with the idea that more interstate athletes will travel to more events which will raise the standard of play across Australia.
The Vic Open, owned by Volleyball Victoria, operated by VicBeach & Melbourne Beaches Volleyball Association will run 20 & 21 February 2027 at South Melbourne Beach & St Kilda Beach.
Volleyball Victoria Affiliate Melbourne Beach Volleyball Association partners with VicBeach to deliver social, 4-a-side, mixed (girls & boys) beach volleyball on St Kilda Beach every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night throughout Summer (weather permitting).

If you are an interstate member, please contact Volleyball Victoria by emailing memberships@volleyballvictoria.org.au by Wednesday 5pm prior to the round of ranking series you are playing.
