
The Victorian Volleyball League (VVL) is the premier club volleyball competition in Victoria. In 2025 there were 270 teams competing in 18 divisions across 10 different stadiums around the state, allowing more than 3,000 athletes to participate.
VVL Aims
Through placing the participant experience at the forefront, provide a high-quality league that aligns with the longer-term strategic objectives of Volleyball Victoria, our key stakeholders, and the organisational high-performance outcomes in the lead up to Brisbane 2032.
In addition to this, ensure the league’s longer term commercial viability, promotion of the sport to a wider community base, while nurturing a strong sense of engagement and connection throughout the entire volleyball community.
VVL Objectives
- Deliver a competition pathway that prioritises a positive participant experience, fostering a sense of community engagement with volleyball.
- Deliver a competition that supports the delivery of VVI high performance outcomes as well as showcasing high quality sporting experiences for the volleyball community.
- Establish a competition that not only encourages participation of all ages and skill levels but also nurtures talent, aligning with Volleyball Victoria's purpose of creating pathways for excellence.
- Showcase emerging talent and highlight player development programs, emphasizing the league's commitment to fostering excellence.
- Use the VVL product to enhance the public awareness and visibility of the sport in Victoria to encourage active involvement in the sport.
